New Mexico State University
Planning and Information

Welcome to the Strategic Planning website for New Mexico State University.

Over the past year, we have finalized the Living the Vision document and compared ourselves to our peers. We have adopted the facilities master plan and reallocated instructional funding based on New Mexico's instructional support funding formula that is driven by student credit hours (SCH). We took these steps because time and circumstances forced us into action. Now it is time for us to consider the future directions of our university system. This will and must be a collaborative process that is directed from the hearts and minds of our broad university community. In addition to our short-term reallocations and initiatives that I have recently outlined, we must complete our university strategic plan to fully realize our overarching, long-term objectives. Strategic planning is a process, and it is the bridge between our mission and initiatives. The result of strategic planning is a roadmap to prioritize action that maintains our core strengths and addresses urgent state needs. The process reinforces collaboration and effective exchange of ideas between all facets of New Mexico State University. Creation of an overarching strategic plan provides both a shared vision and guidance for campus, college and departmental planning to optimize our targeted investments.
